Work Order — Lesson #08
Stage Time Purpose & Activity Instructor Notes
1. Kick-Off 2-3 min Prompt: "What happens when someone does just the bare minimum? What happens when they go beyond?" Guide students toward insights about trust, reputation, and effort.
2. Core Concepts 5-7 min Discuss five traits: Ownership, Initiative, Quality, Pride in Work, Consistency. Share real-world examples (employees, athletes, or designers who "go the extra mile").
3. Guided Work Time 12-15 min Tier 1: "Better Than Before" — students revise one previous assignment to make it stronger. Tier 2: "Value Add Plan" — groups brainstorm ways to elevate a class or club project. Give examples of small, realistic improvements (formatting, visuals, clarity).
4. Reflection / Exit Ticket 2-3 min "Why is 'good enough' not always good enough?" "What's one area you'll exceed expectations in next?" Encourage students to set a micro-goal for the week.
