Work Order — Lesson #09
Stage Time Purpose & Activity Instructor Notes
1. Kick-Off 2-3 min Prompt: "Think of a time you solved a problem in a creative way. What made it work?" Discuss how creative thinkers use structure to guide innovation.
2. Core Concepts 5-7 min Present 5-Step Process: Define → Brainstorm → Evaluate → Implement → Reflect. Include the research-based matrix for context. Use a relatable example (e.g., improving classroom efficiency).
3. Guided Work Time 12-15 min Tier 1: "Five-Step Challenge" — apply process to a small classroom issue. Tier 2: "Innovation Sprint" — teams solve a real school/community problem and present a solution. Support teams in moving sequentially through steps.
4. Reflection / Exit Ticket 2-3 min "Which problem-solving step was hardest?" "Why is reflection as important as finding an answer?" Highlight that iteration is key to all professional innovation.
